"A healer does not heal you.
A healer is someone who holds space for you
while you awaken your inner healer
So that you may heal yourself."
- Maryam Hasnaa

Michael R Gstohl, MA, LMHC - STARTING SOON

While we may share many common threads, every human being carries with them their own unique life experience. And this experience is perceived and processed distinctively by each individual person. Counseling is an avenue to explore your own personal path. It is important to feel comfortable and confident in the process of counseling. I believe that having a healthy and positive rapport with your counselor is key, amidst this journey. In this process you can expect me to walk alongside and offer you a space that is safe to discuss your pathway thus far. And when you feel ready, together we will work towards where you want to go next.

 Background and Experience:

I graduated from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA with a BA in Psychology in 2002. I continued my education at Northwest University where I obtained an MA in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis on multicultural studies, in 2004. Soon after graduation I began to work for a local non-profit mental health agency and continued that effort for over 15 years. In this work I met with individuals for counseling sessions, in addition to managing an outpatient mental health clinic, where I provided clinical supervision to other counselors.  My professional experience to date has offered me the opportunity to walk alongside persons with a vast array of mental health concerns and conditions including, but not limited to:

-Anxiety

-Depression

-Major Life Events

-Grief & Loss

-Trauma

-Relational Issues
